In an effort to continue their legacy of professional service, on March 23, 2016, the company held a grand opening celebration for its new Houston Service Center facility, located at 12305 Kurland Drive in Houston. During the grand opening, approximately 300 people were in attendance; including many current and prospective customers, and business partners in the area. Activities consisted of an awesome crawfish boil and an official facility tour of the newly renovated building.
With this large investment in the Houston Service Center, Puffer-Sweiven is doubling down on its commitment to excellence in providing mechanical services, and with good reason. Customer volume is projected to double due to the sheer size and capabilities of the new facility. With over 140,000 square feet, it is one of the largest valve service facilities in the greater Houston area.
Expanded Capabilities
The Houston Service Center is focused on mechanical service, repair, and assembly of rotating equipment, isolation valves, safety relief valves, actuators, and field instrumentation.
This innovative facility allows the skilled service engineers of Puffer-Sweiven to serve the process industries included within the Houston Ship Channel, Freeport, and Texas City. The Houston Service Center investment has allowed the company to expand its capacities to machine valve sizes as large as 48 inches, add welding services, a 25-ton crane capacity, and an expanded customer spare asset warehouse. There is also a clean room for food grade, chlorine, oxygen service cleaning, capabilities for API 598 & 6D testing, as well as, ASME "VR" safety relief valve repair certification, and ASME "V" and "UV" safety relief valve assembler certifications. Finally, the new center has the capabilities to design and fabricate skid-mounted rotating equipment packages, and custom level gauge assembly and repair.
