On October 8th, the San Antonio office volunteered at a Habitat for Humanity to build homes in Comal County. The team helped install windows on a duplex that will soon be the home for two deserving families.
The chapter provides housing at a total cost that is $300 -$700 per month and builds homes valued at less than half of the national average. The need for this kind of work increases as housing prices continue to move higher. Recently, the chapter recognized an increased need for affordable home repairs for low income families. With support from the community, the chapter has expanded services to include repairs for deteriorating homes, allowing more people to live in safe, decent shelter.
